Hay question for all mini owners !

It depends on what im doing with the mini and what time of year it is!!

Both my minis are virtually out 24/7 but do occassionaly come in in really bad weather. however after the showing season they get ad lib hay 24/7 whether stabled or out and get moved onto my winter grazing of which there is more grass! During the showing season my stallion in grazed on limited grazing during the day with no hay, a bare paddock at night with a small haynet BUT he gets a huge feed morning and night as he is showing, covering and does alot of exercise to keep him fit for the show ring. My shetty does not show but to avoid the dredded laminitis he is out with my stallion in the day and then goes into a larger paddock at night with a small haynet and two small feeds a day as there is slightly more grass in his night paddock.

I would say if your not showing then give ad lib hay if stabled BUT it would also depend on what grazing they have during the day.
