My horse has been on hay replacement of emerald green grass pellets for the past year he recently seems to be going off them. He doesn’t seem to like any other kind either.
can anyone think of anything to make it more appetising?

I had to introduce short chop fibre this winter for the first time, due to poor dentition. My cob is haylage fed due to COPD, which presents an extra challenge! He is given any dried grass (Graze On, Grasstastic etc.) thoroughly damped, with a double handful of grass pellets shaken through it for variety plus half a stubbs scoop of Fast Fibre stirred through, half a 40l bucket of Silvermoor Veteran haylage, and half a stubbs scoop of Fibre Nuggets shaken over an armful of regular haylage. He still picks at his regular haylage even though he can't work through enough of it to keep him going. The grass and fibre mix is given morning and night. I think he would get bored if I only offered one source of fibre. He seems happy to sort through his buckets, and generally doesn't leave anything. Initially alarmed at the cost of feeding him, but as he has previously been a very good doer, he's worth it!

He does have other options of fibre that is mixed in, I looked at the silver moor haylage, what is the consistency like ? Do u have a picture? X

have you tried adding a little milled linseed? mine likes a few sprinkled oats too though they are not suitable if the horse has EMS .

The Silvermoor haylage is good. Probably chopped twice the length of Graze On, but every bag seems to be consistent. It is a soft grass haylage and is palatable for the dentally challenged. I tend to open the bag across the top, like a feed bag, and work my way through it - it is very tightly packed and will keep over a week if you can keep the air out of it.

You could add a slog of linseed oil, if linseed milled doesnt work. Also mix in a spoon of sea salt if you dont add it, as that alone can be a taste attractant.
