Hay shortage is worse than i thought

I got my last lot of hay off of my local farmer who has been a diamond this winter, no matter what the weather was like he was there! Bless him , but he just has no more hay he knows some one that has but £4.50 for a small bale is verrrrrrrrry bad id need to get a morgage to feed my three hay monsters lol. I did get told it was a bad year for hay but just did't take it in, but if any one knows a farmer near new romney kent or that can deliver to the marsh in kent please pm me.

Have you tried Larry Cook, He is down on the marsh near Camber, he delivers the big square or round bales.

£4-£4.50 is the norm round here. Having said that the £4 I paid recently is far better quality and heavier bales than the £4.50 ones I got last time.

Unfortunately £4 for a small bale is the standard price here too. I buy large bales for £30 each which is cheaper but am still going two of them per week.

Ooops - just sold 20 bales of our (very good) 2008 hay to my friend for £2/bale!!

Will definitely keep all my 2009 bales as I often sell them in the summer to make room for the new season's crop!

I do feel for you guys having to pay so much for hay. Wish I grew more!
