I bought my hay last year off a local person and it is really good stuff, very pleased with it! Having seen him yesterday whilst talking he mentioned that he had had the hay tested for it's quality as he was finding that his horse is doing really well on it and usually needs hayledge to keep the weight on...he said that it came out at 12% protein - which is quite good apparently??? Anyone know about this side of things because I am feeding it to my native lad who puts weight on very easily and had a twinge of lami last summer for the first time ever. I do mix it with older stuff though but need to be careful if this is a high percentage to be feeding a native.

D&H will test it, particularly for sugar content which should be below 10% for a laminitic. It costs £5.00 per test, so not much.
