Hay to haylage

[My equine life]

Normally feed hay but our delivery got delayed due to harvest and so picked up some haylage. We are out of hay other than what’s in her haynet at the mo so I won’t be able to make a very gradual change ? the hay is coMing weds. She’s on box rest so obviously needs to eat the haylage! She has eaten haylage before plenty of times fine but I k ow ideally the change should be gradual. What are thoughts on this. Will she be ok?!

She should be fine - I've had to switch suddenly in similar siutations. Keep a close eye obviously. And if the haylage seems very rich you could potentially soak it.

Yes she should be fine. Might have soft dung for a few days but shouldn’t bother her.

You could shake out your haylage and leave it to dry a bit so it's more like hay?
