Just to let local people know I have just worked my way through a second batch of haylage from Hele Vale Haylage (www.helevalehaylage.co.uk) and found it to be great stuff!
I was really dubious as this was going to be my first winter feeding wrapped haylage instead of home grown hay from my livery yard where I have been for the past 20 yrs.
Having moved my horses home in the summer I planned to get haylage in as felt it would be easier to store outside and would enable me to cut down hard feed. My initial worries re it being too heating are gone as both mine look a picture and are as chilled as atm...saying this they are on their hols and I'll be getting back on board soon, so watch this space!
