Got a really poor yield this year. I will probably have to buy some in. First time in about 15 years or so. Anyone else got a poor yield? Was talking to someone today who got 1300 off a field last year and this year...450
Hay yield really down this year.

Wow that's pretty bad - was it well fertilised? I think we are more or less on a par with last year.

Mine wasnt but dont know about friends. Mine needs fertilising but trouble is when i fertilise i have so much i cant store it! I wont sell off the field as have been let down in the past. But will need to fertilise for next year I think.

Farmer took bags of haylage off our field (approx 80 bales), we did fertilise though.

Ours is down in the field and are hoping to bale tomorrow if it doesnt poor with rain (fingers crossed!!). I think we will have less than last your too, just looks a bit thin on the ground if you know what I mean.

Our Yield is really up this year. We only mowed half a field because of the unpredictable weather and we have had more off that half than the whole field last year.
Its the same with our friends who are across the road. We are running out of room to put it all.

Ours is down too, thought it was just us!
We did 980 bales last year. This year off exactly the same land 635. All seemed a bit thinner this year but last year one of the fields was in standing water for ages with the floods so was thin there.

We had a really poor year last year - but a good load this year. By the time we had picked up about a third of our field on wednesday night we had more in the barn than we had from the whole field last year! The barn is definitely looking full!

our farmers seems to be better this year , certainly the quality is better. not sure how many bales he's got compared to last year as he's not finished yet but he's still smiling so it can't be bad lol
