Haycube reviews needed !

thinking about the worse possible sitaution.

say my horse got has leg in it and ripped her leg open. I would reckon it would be pretty unlikely that i'd be able to to claim on my insurance. Most horsey marketed will have been safety tested for horses but the wheeled trugs will have be tested for human use ?

They are the same construction as a bucket, polyblock or a mega trug. The only damage I have ever seen was when one was run over by a horsebox.

What would insurance say if your horse put her leg through a bucket?

The point is i didn't and don't want to take unnessary risks and i felt there was a risk.

Thanks for the feedback, think I will hold back for now then, shame as it seems like such a good idea and if was half the price would give it a go!

it would probably be okay if your horse is tidy mines just perfers her stable to be as mess as she can make it :p

I have one: used it for the first time last night. I have a 17hh Irish Draft. It took his two normal night time nets worth of hay. He had made a lot less mess by this morning than usual with his nets which surpised me.

It wheels OK on the yard and I could pull it up the step into the stable ok. It doesnt drain quickly and I did need to tip it so the plug was on the bottom rather than the side to get all the water out - but I probably could have left that last inch in there really without it being too heavy.

Dry hands, dry legs, no puddle on the floor if I am in a hurry, and it wont dry during the day while it is draining like a net does.

Its strong enough for me to sit on the edge but the sides are sort of flexible so will pop out apparently if pushed to hard.

I have a friend who makes wooden slow feeders but they would rot with wet hay after a while.

Happy so far.

Just throwing it out there.

Is there anyone who has bought a haycube and fixed a grid and if so how ?

Cant see how you could fix a grid to be honest. It has quite a big lip. And not sure how you would stop a net coming out which sounds risky. And takes time and more faff - I like it since it is faff free!

I was hoping it would be faff free but swallow mission is to mix it all through her shavings :( it's just a huge waste she doesn't eat any of it back to haynets until i can find a way round it
