Hi all.... just been researching the internet but cant find an answer...
2 nights ago I had to swap from hay to haylage, first night she had a limited amount and was ok. Second night she worked out how to lean over the wall and had gorged on the haylage.
When I went up this morn she was very warm and sweaty under her rug... I obv. didnt feed her and turned her out as she seemed perfectly happy.
Tonight she has come in, again sweaty.... happy as larry but warm.
Do you think its the haylage, nothing else has changed??
Thanks

Difficult to say - whereabouts in the country are you? It has been extremely mild the last couple of days here (down South) which would be enough to make some horses sweat up without a change in feed. I've even been outside without a coat on! All our horses, who are currently living out, are in lighter rugs as well - it is like Spring here, snowdrops and daffs popping up everywhere! (Although we are obviously being fooled and there is going to be some hideously cold/wet weather to bring us back to earth pretty soon.)

South Wales... It was about 8 degrees today but she only had her 'rain mac' on so she shouldn't have been that warm..
