Hi,

I need to buy some new smaller holed haynets!
The problem I have is that a lot of nets with the right sized holes are too small capacity, but I don't necessarily need one as huge as the massive shires ones!
My other problem is that when I find nets that are just right they seem to end up going missing, so I'm right back to square one again!
On another old thread I saw someone suggest Martsnets on Facebook, I've had a look and they seem like they would be ideal as they would be easily identifiable as mine.

Just wondered if anyone had used them and whether you would recommend?

Many thanks! :-)

I have just been on their FB page and must say they look pretty good, I have just ordered 2 of the 3' ones so will update when they come and I have used them a while

I like the Shires one too

The Martsnets ones are apparently very good they have many repeat customers and seem to give good service

I was very tempted but i am noticing the muscle under my pony's neck to be developing with the use of small holed nets so I hesitate using even smaller holed nets

My horse isn't on a restricted diet, so they don't have to be really small holed, just smaller than a standard haynet as I found that when I've used a normal large holed net it all falls out and ends up being wasted!
It seems to be easy to get big haynets, but haylage nets seem to be about half the size!
Might order a Martsnets net!

The shires blue & black one is the smaller version but I can still get about 15lbs in at a push.

Those martsnets look horrible (colours) to me but it's just personal taste & I'm sure the horses don't care!

I've got one of the orange tiny holed martsnets and I would definitely recommend them, it's huge and has worn well so far, was definitely worth the money

I have a good few martnets all the orange tiny holed ones. Very good & come in range if sizes from shetland to massive!

well, am going to try one-its for the fatty retired pony so not bothered about the neck muscle! he has a top lip like a tapir and most small holed nets, even double netted shires haylege nets don't slow him down at all lol.

When I say my nets go missing, its more like they are replaced!
I end up with the correct number of nets, just instead of my nets with holes of about 6cm I end up with old fashioned nets with 12cm holes!
And as soon as my horse takes a mouthful of hay half of it falls in her bed!

I have the tiny holed nets from martsnets. Def recommend. I don't know why anyone would buy a trickle net when this is available. They aren't readily available if I can remember though. Mine is the strongest net I have ever seen. Must be made from fishing stuff. I feel bad watching my horse struggle to get stuff out so I only have 1. I needed nets recently and couldn't wait on delivery so bought some shires ones at 6 pounds and am happy with them, wanted the larger blue/red&black ones but no where stocked them

Cottage Craft haylage nets are a reasonable size. They're the ones with the metal ring at the bottom and the string is a contrasting colour running through small metal rings. I find them very easy to fill as they seem to stay open for stuffing.

Martsnets are still in business, they no longer sell on ebay but advertises on chit chat and tack regularly as clare cornforth.

Just to follow up on this thread, I ordered 2 nets from Martsnets and they arrived today and are exactly what I wanted!
They seem really well made too, better than normal nets you buy, so I'm pretty pleased!

I received my two trickle net type from Martsnets (promptly I might add) and they are great, really well made and my girlie manages fine with them. She still completely eats up but it lasts her a lot longer now.

Hope Valley Saddlery usually sell 3 nets for £12.00, I buy the bright pink which can't be missed so never had a problem with them going missing.
