Where my horse is there were four horses but now my friend has moved her three horses away so my lad is on his own,When there was four horses we went through a round bale of haylage every two to three weeks but now just the one horse it will take him probably double the time to get through a round bale. The haylage is always of very good quality and more hay like than wet so will it go off as fast as wet haylage might??.And also i will need to get some smaller square bale haylage to see us through into the winter,It is always stored under cover on pallets but it always seems to go mouldy on the bottom very quickly so i end up throwing it away and at £4.00 a bale it's alot of money to waste! What am i doing wrong?.Lots of friends buy square bales in bulk loads in the spring to stock up for winter and it never goes manky!..Any advice guys thanks!.
