Haylage supply for one/two horses?? Help ideas please!!

Does anyone know of a haylage supplier in the south east that supplies haylage in the smaller bales not the large round bales?

The problem is that it seems that you can only get haylage either in those stupidly expensive and tiny Marksway horsehage bags, or you can get it in those large round bales for the big yards which is very reasonably priced and lasts for ages. As the haylage in these big bales does not last long its no good for when you only have one or two horses unless you want to throw away stupid amounts of haylage every week. The marskway horsehage is an option but they are tiny,I reckon my horses would be eating nearly a whole bag(£6) each per day, they eat loads. Or is there more squashed in there than it looks?

The marksway Horsehage does actually have a lot more than the outer bag appears, it's still pretty expensive stuff though. Good luck with your search.

When you say little they are about 1/2 a tonn each about 4ft high and wide a basic cube I have just started to feed mine it it is much drier than the horsehage stuff he purposely makes that way for horses.

If you can keep it dry and in a barn you can unwrap it and it lasts much longer then keeping it covered up.

My livery uses it for her 4 horses in day/ out at night and 1 bale lasts her about 10 day 2 weeks, so as I'm only feeding 1 at the moment in 18hrs a day recovering from laminitius and my horse is having a token out in the feild.It will probably last me at least 5/6 weeks if not more as they aren't have great big haynets!!

I have unwrapped my bale as its kept in my barn so it wont get wet and start to rot.
I have had 20 bales delievered to my yard 5 for me and 15 for my livery should last me the winter.(but he said if we need more he will have some for us.)My livery has used him for a couple of years and has always had stuff to say about him.
