Haylage to Hay - how to change fodder?

It might be possible that in the near future I'll be moving to feeding my boy hay instead of his usual haylage, I'm worried it'll upset his stomach as a horse on my yard got a mild colic from this not too long ago.

How do I go about making the switch to make it less likely to cause problems?

Just do it gradually. Add half a slice of hay one night, a slice the next... gradually building up the hay and reducing the haylage over a week or so. Be warned they won't like the hay at first and may leave it! We swop from haylage in winter to hay in summer and they always sulk!
