My horse is going in possibly next week for exploritory surgery on her fetlock ut the hay the y/o has got in is very duty and full of these black things and generally not very nice.

Cappelli is a full tb who has been out of work for 3 months and can be very flighty.

She only get pony nutsd and a bit of dengie and supplements and bute twice a day.

Id like to look into the cost of feeding hayledge to get around the poor hay. I be using it on my own so cant share it with anyone.

Would it be suitable for a horse that is out of work ( will it send her loop? ) and how much are the small bales and how much do i feed?.

Id like to know how much it would cost to either mix it with the wet hay she has or feed it in place of the hay.

thankies

I couldn`t feed haylage to my TB as it did funny things to him for some reason, (which was a pity because i love the smell of it), but i know plenty of people who feed it with no problems whatsoever. We sell mini bales of haylage for £4.25 a bale which depending on how much you feed would last 2 1/2- 3 days. I would feed one or the other if i was you, i would`t bother mixing it. Also check with whoever you buy it from whether the price changes if you have it delivered as we charge £4.75 delivered, £4.25 picked up from the shop.

We buy a low energy haylage as OH's mare goes off her trolley on the high energy one (she does on very good quality hay too!

) We pay £15 for a 150kg bale and that last both of ours 1 week - as it's drier than high energy stuff it doesn't go off either

Can you tell me the brand on it miller? My horse cant have cereal based feeds ever as they sent her loopy but this sounds like good stuff.

Would this stuff you use last 1 person 2 weeks and not go off?
