Thanks for that, I'll try and see if I can find another plate on it when I'm at the yard tomorrow.That isn't the plate of manufacture that is put on by Ifor williams, it's the data for the towing hitch specification. Somewhere else will be a plate with IW on it like this.

If you contact IW with the last 6 or 7 numbers on the plate they can tell you the date of manufacture.

Another way that might work is if you look at the tyres. There is a 4 number code inside an oval on the side wall. The code gives the week and year of manufacture of the tyre, so 2409 would be a tyre made in week 24 of 2009. Doesn't help if the tyres have been changed but its useful to know so you can check how old the tyres are. I wouldn't use tyres more than 7 years old, although there is no legal reason to do so it is recommended, and certainly no older than 10 years. It very much depends on how exposed the the elements they have been when standing.
