Sorry, really self indulgent post! My friend told me yesterday that she was taking her little mare to an unaffiliated show jumping on monday, and would I like to take Max (my 4Y/O). Anyways I said yes because it's only 20minutes away, and it will be good to take Max out for the experience, get some milage under his belt
. Anyways I'm not planning on doing a class with him, but if I do I may just take him into the 1ft clear round
.
Back to the point. He hasn't loaded since we got him (and that was on a big lorry), however that was 2 years ago. So today was the day to find out whether he would load or not. Well shouldn't have been worried, he kind of tripped going up the first time so stood there for about 10seconds whilst he got his confidence back. Walked up to the the top lots of pats and praise with some treats, and walked straight back off again. Did this about seven more times, he was brilliant straight up without any hesitation, then made him wait for two minutes, as chilled as anything
.
Really really pleased with him. Didn't think he would go up if I'm honest
. If I do manage to go to the SJ, I will be sure to take lots of piccies
