Head and Heart are having a fight

Forgetting the comments about if this horse will carry watever weight, there is something not right about its back end, i dont know what, but its not right, particularly highlighted in canter, personally, having seen the video of BB I would pick BB over the other everytime.

Yes it seems a nice sort, and has what seems a lovely consistent outline, but it is not working from behind or correctly over its back... not worth the money or the trip IMO...

Now you've posted that photo of Ben and after seeing the video a few days ago, I just wanted to let you know that an international transporter is turning up at your place later this week to whisk him away over the ocean just in time for my Christmas present, so you can go and get that 'orrible old schoolmaster that you covet. Yup, started the thread on a Sunday, weighed in Monday, and a bit more lost. Surprising the results you can get when you can't eat anything solid:)
 
Have not read the the whole thread or watched all off both videos but my penneth I would even consider driving to the road end to see the horse that's for sale it weak in the back not going forward does not look 'right ' behind and it would not surprise me it was bilaterally wrong in front as well I am sure he's a very sweet horse but he screams leave alone at me.
I do however like your horse he looks like he will be a lot of fun a lot of work as well but that's the fun .
Good luck with the diet just keep plugging away at it.
Is someone working with Ben ? (sorry I have not been following this story).
 
Just looks long in the back to me. And not working through. Is that rider or because he can't?

ETA - just watched the video and commented. Looking up there ^^^ I'm not the only one who thinks this!

Wow :eek: Ben looks fantastic!

I would definitely be keeping him - he looks like he moves nicely, and I love the trot, plus he seems pretty chilled and happy with having someone onboard in that vid... And even if the other horse is a perfect schoolmaster, to get the best out of him, don't forget you will still need to bond with him, and school to that standard to maintain it long term...plus what quirks might he have that you don't know about?
 
The movement of the horse in the first video does not look right - I am not an expert and was ready to be shot down for saying it, but glad to see others saying similar.

You waited a year to have him OP and I think he looks so special! I can see why you waited so long! Best of luck with your weight loss and his training - I think it will all pay off to be well worth it in the end. What a stunner :)

He was away for 2 months in the summer getting his basics being ridden out and about and a small amount of schooling work. I have done a little with him, but basically he is standing at the moment waiting to get going again. I have a trainer who we will both be working with in the new year.
 
Ben is a beauty..you must be so excited about being able to ride him...soon!

Also no expert but the other one did not look right to me. I thought that one back leg was stiffer than the other. Both however looked stilted..possibly a back problem?
