So I am looking at getting OH a Headcam for when he goes mountain biking, also looking to borrow it for the odd horsey event.

I have narrowed it down to the Contour HD2 or the Gro Pro Hero 3....................can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend any other brand - looking to spend no more than £300 and ideally would like some mounts etc

Thank-you in advance................

Hi folks,

Happened on this thread purely by accident - I'm a horsey broadcast engineer, so I know more than I should about cameras.

We use the GoPro stuff for professional purposes all the time - they're brilliant. Get one. In fact they're used by pros all over the industry - Top Gear, for instance, use them on most of their crazy stunts & races, most notably when they crossed the channel. BBC recently used a set to film carriage driving action for a report too. If you watch 'Whale Wars' on Animal Planet, all of their footage from the small boats is shot on a GoPro - in Antarctic temperatures & salt water.

So...yeah, as you can see, great quality & resilient. You cant kill these things :)

& no....I wasn't paid to say that. I just know good kit :) Have fun & post the results!!
