Has anyone’s horse had a head CT for headshaking/neuro problems under GA? Would be interested to hear the process/how you found the experience as an owner and how your horses coped?

Thanks!

I’ve not had one done under GA but Liverpool Uni have a set up that allows them to do the head and first few cervical vertebrae under standing sedation and I had the Welsh done that way (not for head shaking but to look at why horse had become insanely hypersensitive at the poll, which we did find the cause of).

Unsure if there’s a specific reason for wanting it done under GA (which if you’re wanting the entire neck doing as well you absolutely do need) but just letting you know that depending on your location there may be options available that don’t require GA.

Hi, thanks. We was hoping to have it done standing but unfortunately under GA is the only way possible fof
