What would you think if you were lunging your horse and he constantly had his head lowered along the floor...would this be a good sign that they are voluntarally streaching through there back or that they are stiff/sore somewhere??

I reckon it would be a good thing that they are volunteering to stretch down

My mares flat work isntthe best but have been working all year to improve her trot work which is now good bouncy and underneath herself. She is a bit stiff to the left so spend a long time warming up and bending I have now moved on work on her canter and all she want to do is canter round with her nose practically on the floor. (i have been experimenting with longer reins and getting her to balance herself) she feels relatively balanced for her and she will maintain canter happily around the school until i ask her to trot what do you think? I am wondering if it is a bit of an evasion tactic (she is always coming up with new ones) any thoughts guys?

Sorry this is when she is being ridden
