im looking at buying a foal, ive seen 2 i like, 1st 1 is ''bertie'' he's a welsh D x new forest, i love him to bits and he's kept in the field next door to my horses so he's right there to handle before he's weaned. he is £600 heres his pic

and then theres a Fell pony foal, he is nice but i think theres nothing to tell them apart, he will be reg etc county level showing (which im not really bothered about). he's £475 and my OH prefers him but he's a few miles away and to get to him we have to cross a ferry, so i worked out to visit him 15 times in the next 5 months it would cost us £255!! in petrol and ferry!! so he's MORE money in the long run. heres pics of him

WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE!! i love bertie, he's a more ''down to earth type''
oh yeah sorry the pics are big

I think Bertie is absolutely adorable, so if you don't mind about showing, considering he is closer and all in all cheaper i would go for him.

Forget money.Forget travel time.
If both will be able to do the job you want when adults, are both healthy with no obvious conformation trouble and are both nice people to be around, go with your heart!

Impossible to choose between them, they are both absolutely gorgeous beyond description, so.........would have to agree with anima & say, go with your heart!

I think you have already made your decision!
You seem to like bertie more and are thinking of excuses against the fell pony!
If you wanted the fell you would be saying its not that far and you wont have to travel forever.

Go with your heart.

They are both lovely foals!

I agree that you seem to prefer Bertie, so go for him, but to me that Fell pony foal is the cutest thing I have seen in ages!

I agree, cutest thing on four legs ever! I was looking at the pic & actually wondering if I could maybe have a foal.......but no, sadly I can't! So sweet though!

i like the fell, only because i love their hairy feet!! agree that you seem to prefer bertie and if your not showing then i would get bertie so someone else could have the fell and show him?

Almost exclusively I use my head when buying horses; once in a while when I see some dreadful atrocity going on I will use my heart, but my head generally backs my heart up under these sorts of conditions.

Personally I would buy the Fell - no doubt about it. I can't see the issue with the money; you're only talking about a £100 more; hardly big bucks.

Whichever one you choose, I am sure you will adore it.
