Am buying seasonal head shaker who is perfect apart from this one habit. Read lots of testimonials about Equiwinner but dont know anyone who has tried it - either with success or not - any experiences out there? He has had everything else checked and fine. He also doesnt get upset or all sweated up about it - seems just habit in summer. Wears ear and nose net which his present owner says has helped a bit. any ideas?? If anyone used it with success - where did they get it from ?? Thanks in advance of lots of help lol!

Hi Sheeniebee, I have tried just about everything with my horse but hav'nt tried Equiwinner. will google it later. Nothing seems to work on my boy which is a shame. At least you know your horse has got this problem, I bought mine in winter and found out in the spring!!

Mmm it sounds bit too good to be true looking at web but when all other avenues explored seems may be worth the effort (and expense!) Let me know how you get on if you try it. I will post results if i try it too! Keep me posted!

Hi, I'll apologise now because you won't want to hear this but my advice would be to not buy the horse. I have a headshaker, bought unknowingly through the winter months and it is a very distressing and upsetting condition that affects my horse for several months of the year meaning for these months we cannot plan anything, hacking out, competing - nothing. I have to take every day as it comes and make him as comfortable as possible. I have tried many, many supplements and drugs - I've found antihistamines help but at times there is nothing that can be done to help him and I just have to stand, calm and reassure him. Please research this fully and really consider whether you want to put yourself through this.

I agree with Loubiepoo. My boy suffers mostly in the summer. He has a nose net and sometimes antihistamines work (which can be expenisve alone) Schooling is a no no as it's frustrating for me and uncomfortable for him.
It's also a pain going down at specific times to keep up the antihistamines, and planning the time before riding etc. I must be the only person to look forward to the winter! He is fine for hacking though? depends on what you want?
