15 quid for 2 rechargeable waterproof lightweight torches. Am using these this winter and they’ve saved lots in buying batteries for my other petzl headtorches.
Quick to recharge, they also have a softer surround light option that’s gentler than the spotlight beam, so when i’m near the horses at night i’m not accidently dazzling them with spotlight.

We have a house full of petzl ones.
Hubby likes to run after dark on rural footpaths and hasn't got hurt yet. Now the horses live out i use them daily and I'm really impressed at the output they give.

Another vote for Petzl, used riding in the dark in a forest, mucking out when my electric has gone and going out into the field if dark.

I have two of these. They last a long time between charges and are bright enough to see a reasonable distance. Cheap and cheerful but do the job. Maybe a bit fiddly until you get used to the different colour options.

led lenser are supposed to be really good but I don't think they are waterproof. I got an Alpkit qark which is waterproof and has both a rechargeable battery but also can take triple As

Mine is IP68 rated, good for submersion in water for up to 30mins without issue!!

I trail run and do Ultramarathons which often involve running through the night. My 2 favourites, based on comfort, weight, battery time and brightness are the
Fenix HM65R-T V2.0 and the Petzl Nao RL 1500L.

Neither are a cheap option but both perform brilliantly.
