Hi there, afraid I dont post much although Im an avid reader of HHO and feel Ive learnt a lot here over the years. Im after some advice about my boy sorry if I get this wrong but Im not sure of the correct technical term for the sticky out bony bit behind his eyes. One of these is enlarged almost similar to when you have knocked heads and get a hard lump. The quandary is that there is no heat, hes not bothered with you touching or pressing it, he acts/rides like his usual self (the bridle doesnt touch it in any way). Its rock hard, not fluidy and there is absolutely no surface damage to the hair or skin at all which I would have thought there would be had there been any sort of trauma. Hes not the kind to throw himself about, although he can be playful at times, but none of the others hes turned out with are nasty and we very rarely have any injuries other than the odd bite.
He is a grey so Im paranoid about growths anyway but its been nearly a week now and it hasnt gone down at all if anything it may be ever so slighter larger than when I first noticed it. Has anyone experienced this? Is it likely to be a fracture with no surface damage (and increase in size) or perhaps it is a growth but it feels like bone and appears to be on bone.
I would call the vet in an instant if he was tender on it or if it bothered him in any way and will do so if it remains. But I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on what it may be.
Thanks for reading!
