Hi, is anyone able to recommend a decent headcollar for a Welsh section A? I've tried several makes but I find that they just slip and end up close to her eye.

Happy to get a leather one if needs be but just reluctant to buy one without knowing how well they fit.

I use small pony Shires too as I find that there is plenty of room under the throat area but not too long that it dangles past the end of the nose. Will try to post pic but not sure if it will come out sideways.

Ideally I would suggest a headcollar that adjusts on top of the nose and also at the throat. By tightening the strap under the throat, that should help keep the straps away from the pony's eyes.

I have arabs, so a similar head shape to dishy welsh heads and y favourite synthetic heacollars were the Cottage Craft ones with three buckles. They are discontinued but I had some help from forum members on here to find ones of the same design.

Here's a pony sized one on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363149562475 I would think that it would adjust down as they have a lot of holes. Leather is good because you can punch more holes if required.

This is one that was suggested to me as an alternative to the Cottage Craft one.

ETA - It sounds like the Shires small pony ones fit well from the above replies. :)

English bridles have some beautiful small head collars. My shetlands have a small pony sized one each and their Show Pony size is an 1" bigger of head piece and 1/2" bigger on cheek pieces. The website is a but unclear but the leather on the pony ones is nice and small as well and doesnt over whelm small faces
