Healing vibes for my dog :-(

Hello,

I've never posted on the doggie bit of this forum, but I thought you wouldn't mind in this case. My OH has had to take my dog to the vet hospital with internal bleeding this morning, I'm waiting for news, so any vibes would be most welcome.

Thanks for the vibes, they must have worked as OH is on his way home with him now. He's got a problem in his prostate which should clear up with a month's course of heavy-duty antibiotics, a tear in his urethra which they repaired and scar tissue in his kidneys, which may or may not be related to his other problems and will have to be checked in due course. The surgeon said that it was touch and go, but fortunately looks like will have a good outcome now.

In case you think we're terribly neglectful owners, we'd been to the vets three times in as many weeks about this problem, unfortunately saw a locum and I didn't press it enough as he is my first dog and I'm not very experienced with dogs yet. Feel so guilty now.

Please don't feel guilty - we've all made mistakes at one time or another. :o That's the beauty of animals - they're always teaching us things and it's up to us to learn from them.

That said, I'm so pleased to hear you have relatively good news about your lad. I hope he goes on to make a good recovery. :)
 
Glad to hear he is home and wishing him well with his recovery.

My puppy is at puppy hospital too took him this morning, he's not coming home as his temperature wont drop back to normal, they thought he had internal bleeding too but now hope its an abcess thats created a nasty infection so he's on a drip with IV anti-biotics.

Hoping he has a good night and can come home tomorrow.
