Rode my boy out this morning and did quite a slow hack as the tracks were so wet and when I was walking he stumbled and did 1 lame step and then carried on fine, so I didnt really think anymore of it, got home turned him out for a few housrs and when bought him in tonight he's hopping lame, doesn't want to really put much weight on it and there is alot of heat in the fetlock and its quite swollen

I had 2 sachets of bute so have given him 1 tonight and 1 tomorrow for breakfast and cold hosed it and then covered it in staysound and banadaged him. And gave him a reallly deep bed!

I will keep him in for a week and see how he goes, will get vet if not better by thurs or if it gets worse.

I cant believe it - just praying its not serious!

That'll teach me for telling him i've entered Goring and Larkhill!!

Wouldn't you love to wrap them up in cotton wool and lock them in their stables?? Sounds tremendously unlucky to trip at walk and be lame. Have you scrubbed out the feet well in case he has a puncture???

Fingers crossed for you.

I would love to wrap him in cotton wool!!

I think he was sore previously and then tripping highlighted it but then he hoolied round the field and made it alot worse
