My 16yo cat was sick last week and didn't want to eat and was very subdued to took to vet same day. Injection for nausea and home but still no better so back in and put on drip. After a lot of confusion the vet has found an enlarged heart and endocarditis, with a very fast heart rate and an episode of atrial fibrillation. Anyway puss is home and I have been trying to feed him with liquidised food from the vets as they suggested. He seems fairly well in himself-considering what he has been through-but just has no appetite at all.
He is various meds: antibiotics and digoxin for his heart.
Vets awaiting hyperthyroidism test result too.
He is such a family friend and we are all so upset to see him like this.
Have tried but he just has no interest in food, and I hate forcing him, it's bad enough having to give him all the pills.
So please think of him if you have time-he is called Spice.
Any advice also welcomed.
