I have a 4 year old Bichon Frise that I rehomed in Feb.. I took her to the vet when I gother & had her checked over & they said that she was very healthy.. A few months later she was doing her business in the garden & got a little poo stuck to her tail, absolutely freaked herself out & wasn't herself for about 4-5 days..took her to a vet ( a different one) as she's also started starting to itch her bottom on the ground, thought it could have been blocked anal glands & they noticed she had a slight heart murmur.. So tonight I took her to a the vet to get her wormer & the vet said that she has a very healthy heart & lungs...I didn't mention that another vet had said that she had a murmur, I just let him check her over.. So my question is can heart murmurs in dogs come & go & could this just have been to do with the fac that she's frightened herself?

Well the other vet I used as a one off, said she had a grade 1-2 so it was only slight.. but the vet last night said she had a very strong heart & he listened to her heart for ages..so it's obviously gone..thanks for your replies..

A lot of dogs have very slight arrythmia because their hearts beat so fast and they can exaggarate this when exercised. They can grow out of it and it can be difficult to diagnose due to stress -related speeded up breathing etc at vets! (Although mine wagged his way in this week and was the happiest boy in there!)
