Hearts

[ QUOTE ]
I think they're to be cooked, my friend always did, they reeked. No idea about offal, sorry.

Well all offal should be cooked so that was my thinking too...thanks

Well we cook lambs hearts for dad in a stews and I never think that smells really.

Since the heart itself is a muscle and the tissue looks like any other muscle meat, I don't think it would be classed as offal and could be fed raw. I've always cooked it when I fed it to my dogs or used it for bait in the conformation ring or for training treats.

I have no idea how you feed them; I ended up throwing my cows one out as the feedback on here was too hit and miss for me.

Can't imagine heart would be classed as offal though as it is a muscle.

Ex OH said feed it raw as its a muscle and if you cook it you lose the really good stuff it contains.

All of the dogs had 2 each (apart from the mini JRT's who had one each) and they all wolfed them down!
