Meet Harry, who rides weekly at The Donkey Sanctuary Leeds. Due to having poor head and trunk control he finds it more comfortable to lie down on the donkey. Harry is profoundly deaf in one ear and is also partially sighted. But look how happy he is on board Jack

My youngest niece had her first ever donkey ride last week...now she wants riding lessons

It's amazing, isn't it? My brother, who's 5 this weekend, is severely autistic. A complete mute, doesn't talk to anyone bar a 'humming' sound.

I persuaded my father to take him to RDA. My family are completely un-horsey, so he was very sceptical.
He sent me a video of my brother (also called Harry!) gibbering away to this little shetland pony, with a grin from one ear to the other. He now signs to want to go to the riding school

It's amazing what animals can do x
