Does anyone else have a horse with arthritis that gets worse as the weather gets warmer? My horse has it in the coffin joint and it hasn't been a problem through the winter but seems to be flaring up now (as it has done for the last couple of summers) although he is not doing any more work. it could possibly be down to the hard ground but his fields are very good and level? magnet therapy and supplements work during the winter but was wondering if anyone has used cold therapy for the treament of athritis during the summer?

It could be the hard ground or it could be that the arthritis is degenerating again.

Cold hosing is very good in the summer for strains, sprains and arthritis esp if there is heat present.

I feed my horse with arthritis cortaflex ha, cider apple vinegar and devil's claw.

It might be worth having him x-rayed again and talking to your farrier if he needs remedial farriery.
