daughters mare pulled a shoe after a bid for freedom with her friend . pulled off cleanly but she has some heat in the foot .farrier will be out in a few days and cant trot her up due to the ice. i assume shell be a bit foot sore .do you think i should be worried or is this normal do you think.

Sounds normal, if she has worn shoes for a while she will be footsore until shoes are replaced or after time for her feet to harden back up. Just make sure there are no nails left in her hooves as they can do more damage to her :)

I would imagine that if the ground is hard because of the ice, there maybe some trauma or bruising on the barefoot if they arent used to it. Give the farrier a call for peace of mind if you are still worried. :)
