Hello - after some advice please!

My horse yesterday seems to have a little heat in one of her front feet. She isn't hopping lame though, in fact she's only a very little lame. However this morning there seems a little more heat....

Apart from abscess, can anyone suggest what this could be?

She does also like to kick her door at feed times etc., and though we have padded the door, little monkey moves along to the door frame so she can make a noise. Can this cause a sore hoof?

If it's only on one foot then I'd suspect an abcess brewing, if it's both then laminitis would be my first concern. Is there a pulse & if so is it stronger in one leg than the other? If there's a stronger than usual pulse in both that's another laminitis warning & I'd get her straight off the grass & call the vet.

Thanks for the input...no, no pulse and only slight warmth in one...she only goes out for a couple of hours a day as she can balloon v. quickly [typical trakehner cross] and is permanently on a diet, though we are nearing her ideal weight at last!!

I'd be surprised if it's that as I'm really careful and wary of laminitis!
