Just wanted to say, ring and ask if he/she could come out possibly monday as this will give you time to monitor the pony and it will either go away of its own accord (perhaps if its bumped itself) or get worse indicating that you will need the farrier out
Cold hosing is a good start, possibly a poltice but again i would say see the afrrier before doing this. And if a possible lamnitic keep it in over the weekend
my boy had a warm front hoof the other week, not swollen but really warm. Next day he was fine, so put it down to him hoolying around the field. Leave it a day to at least see if the heat goes. You don't want to have a bill if its only a knock.
If it is a knock would there be heat in the foot? I will leave it a day and check her tomorrow, all her other feet are cold and just a bit of heat in that one...
One of my boys had this two weeks ago and it went away after a day or two, and he wasn't lame either so I would just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go get your farrier to have a lot.
hi, the same thing is happening to my youngster, she has heat in just one hoof. shes not lame . had farrier out but he didn't give me any answers! : ( any news on your pony?
