if a horse had a wound and it had healed not lame, scanned and xrayed by vet and given all clear would it still get hot after exercise?

chilled glasses of rosey and malteasers on offer :)

quite possibly i guess, it was about the same temp for a few days but then it had been minus 10 degrees up here!

it was a pretty deep cut down the outside of cannon bone, vet originally thought it was a splint bone fracture but as already detailed given the all clear. Wound was approx 12cm long and had to have deep tension stitches, it was around 7 weeks ago now. and he was running around the field like a loon this morning!

will give the vet a phone on monday - sure they are sick of me now!

This is possible depending on how sever the scarring is and how the injury has healed. I had a spinal operation 4 years ago, and every so often if I over do it the whole bottom half of my back gets warm to the touch. Doctor has said its because more capilliaries have formed during the scar/healing process in that area, therefore there is more blood flow=increase in temperature when I over do it.
