Our paddocks have no shade but stable has metal roof so like and oven inside. Is horse better off outside or in. Worried about heat stroke. Flies are dreadful outside.

Probably best outside as there's more chance of a breeze. Use a fly mask and spray.
Never yet found a fly spray that works !

My stables have a tin roof so are very hot in day. Altho' flies are a nuisance mine are definately better off in this weather being out in the day, they do have shade from trees but we have swarms of horseflies (because we are surrounded by woods). Fly masks and fly rugs are the best deterents and they don't come in from field sweating, had vet out today for jabs and horses had to come in at 2 o'clock and by 2.30 both were sweating in their stables,
