hey all

in my never ending search for a saddle... which involves doing b*gger all except search online at the mo, as i'm not even riding as am hugely pregnant... i came across a 'heather moffett easi-sit saddle by Saddle Company...

i've never heard of these

it says that they are half synthetic - which half?
also that they are very adjustable - really?

are they any good? i'd want GP type one...

i'm not going to rush out and buy one.... as i'm having to wait til i pop then can get saddler out... i'm just browsing and interested in considering as many different saddles as poss. i need a decent one, that i find comfy (as well as fitting horse well) for not too much money...

so... opinions etc much appreciated on this type of saddle... no doubt i'll be asking about a different one next week....

cookies and warm milk if you get this far.

I don't personally like them. I have fitted a few second hand ones (I fit saddle company saddles) and I find the seat very flat despite the memory foam which is supposed to let you sink deeper into the seat.

The top part is leather (but not like the SC leather- itd more of a grainy leather) and the underside of the flaps are synthetic. The tree is injected moulded plastic with a metal headplate which is adjusted using the SC retemplating machine. This adjusts the width of the gullet and the front of the gullet (as it is attached to the metal gullet) but not the back panels. Therefore the panels have tobe right for the horse. I found the HM moffet saddle to have quite narrow gussets.

It should have two sets of stirrup bars so you can do jumping or flat work.

hmmmm... thank you... onto my next lot of searching... i'm a totl pauper at the moment and want to make sure i'm spending my hard-earned cash on a saddle that works for me and the horse without breaking the bank....

hmm... at least it gives me an excuse to spend my life on google when on maternity leave!
