My horse's current saddle isn't the comfiest, but fits him really well so i'm reluctant to change it. So i'm wondering whether to try one of the Heather Moffett seat bone savers. Has anyone tried one? What are they like? Can you also jump in them, or would i need to take it off whenever we planned on jumping?

I rate them very highly however some people have said they think the change made to the riders position is too radical. They do put you in a correct position IME but some riders find this is just too much of a change.

I would buy one as there will always be someone who will have it off you if you dont get on with it.

They do sound good from their description, but its great to have people's personal opinions too, thankyou. I think i'll have to get spending...again!

hello

I'm new to this just signed up today! I have been using these with my two horses now for about 10 years and think they are fab. I am sure you wont regret buying. I do long distance riding and even after 25 plus miles am comfy and no aches or pains the next day. Only thing I find if you ride a horse who's saddle does not have one I feel like I am a bit slippy in saddle as the suede on the saver does make you feel secure but if you tend to ride your own mainly that's not an issue! They are just as good for jumping and all sorts!

I was recently trying a new horse, and there was one of these seat savers, and it was fantastic, I felt so secure in the saddle, it was much better than the wool seat savers I am used to.
I want to get one, any suggestions for the best place to buy from?

They are fab!! I bought one for all my saddles. I have sacroiliac probs following being rolled on, & it's like having a new spine. I can get off my horse & walk away without being all bent over, jump & not be on the sofa for a day or two & do sitting trot!!

I've now got Heather Moffatt dr saddles & Barry Swain jumping saddle & they've got the seatbone saver material built into the seat.

I love mine too, am planning to get a second one for my other mare as I am getting fed up with swapping it over all the time

I jump in mine and it's fine.

Catembi I am selling my BS/HM dressage saddle after many, many happy and comfy years of use (horse retired and doesnt fit new boy).

Its actually heartbreaking to get rid of it but at least I know I can put a seatbone saver on the new saddle and get halfway to feeling like I did in the old one.

Know how you feel, Spaniel, I'd HATE to get rid of my BS jumping. It didn't fit my new horse cos the gullet was too narrow, so it's just been back to BS himself for the panels to be moved.

Got it back from my saddler on Mon & booked the indoor school which had a course of jumps set up this eve. Just got back...wow I love that saddle!!
