After Keysoe our competitive outings dropped to a steady rate of zero per week. Nada. Zilch. Chez Della was on the go slow - until last weekend!

On the 17th October at 1000 I passed my HGV license. At 1200 on the 17th I got to take the lorry I had bought in August out for a spin. And finally, on the weekend of the 24th October I was going to take D to our first competition in over a month in my own lorry! :D

Now, where's the but you ask? Well, see below for three things not to do during your first outings in your own lorry.

1) Have a flat lorry battery

2) Try and fill up at a petrol station with a canopy lower than the height of your lorry

3) Forget the snacks for long-suffering OH who hates your driving in a car, never mind a lorry!

Needless to say the weekend was not smooth sailing ;) We did, however, safely make it to not one, but two events. I did manage to navigate D through a (very uninspiring) novice test with no errors of course. AND for the first time ever, we made it clear round a hunter trial. On balance I am therefore calling this weekend a success and looking forward to the next trip out in Larry the Lorry :D

Enjoy the pics,

TTFN!

Those are fab XC pictures :) - and I was relieved to see that the front of the lorry was still in one piece after your experiences with a low canopy at a petrol station :D

Haha, yes, it just resulted in the OH having to direct me whilst I did a many point turn! (I'm still convinced it would have fit ;) )

I would get a battery isolator! It's a life saver, you will never have to worry about a flat battery again :). Well done on the xc the pics look great :)

Have one, and it was switched the right way ;) it needs two new batteries tbh, I just haven't got round to buying them after having a few other bits done - on the list of jobs for half term!
