Hi all,

We live in a windy and wet area and I have horses with PSSM muscle issues etc so keeping them warm is really important.

Which are the heaviest, drapiest exercise sheets, (are there any other options than Thermatex?) I'm not keen on the little, light fleecy ones, they don't work for us in the wind.

Secondly, I have seen waterproof exercise sheets which have front attachments of a neck and shoulders cover. Any recommendations for these please, are they any good?

Thanks so much for your help.

I've just bought a Weatherbeeta Thermocell exercise sheet, it's not arrived yet but it looks like it should be thicker than a thinner fleece. I looked at a Le Mieux version in the flesh which I was quite thick :)

I don't think either will be quite as thick as a Thermatex but I didn't want that!

I have one and love it! I’ve never had a Thermatex (at least not yet ;)) so I can’t compare. Hope you like yours when you get it!

Thermatex or the Rambo stripe ones I find are the best for not flapping about thet don't move either and will stand up to quite heavy rain without soaking through.

Arabi won't have flappy noisy exercise sheets and his fine with these.

I got both of my Rambo ones on ebay they are quite old now so not sure if they make them that thick anymore.

I have to go out in the wind a lot and thermatex is the best I’ve tried by far. Just doesn’t budge. I saw it described somewhere as a hug for your horse, and that is pretty much my experience. 40mph wind and cantering and it didn’t move.
I do have the horse wear waterproof one and it’s ok, but I would not go out in strong wind on it.
