Hi all

I know this is not strictly CR but I thought you would all have the best experiences!

I need to buy some heavy clippers ideally Id like them as quiet as possible.

I have has Liveryman Arena blue but I dont feel they are able to cope with large amount of clipping and seem to be very noisy.

I would like suggestions that do fit livery man blades as I have rather a few sets!

Any suggestions?... I had seen Liscop super horse clipper 3000 are these any good?

Thank you in advance for sugestions :-)

You cannot use the Liveryman blades on the Heinegar sadly. Your liveryman blades will fit some liscop machines including this one...

Liscop machines are made in Germany and have a good reputation. They also produce blades and machines for other companies, so they have a track record in the trade.

In the "Heavy Duty" clipper field, most are noisier and heavier, due to the more powerful motors. The biggest problem is that if you are clipping lots, any machine will get hot and no one in my 16 years experience has ever produced a machine that can "clip all day". Some of my old customers used to have two lighter duty clippers and alternate. Plus lots of sets of sharp blades and good oil and spare air filters. This meant they were putting the minimum strain on the machines but getting the maximum out of them.

Good luck

I have the Lister Laser clippers and really rate them - powerful and will clip the thickest of coats. We have clipped several horses one after the other without a problem. There is a new version out now but haven't seen or used them. The downside is they are big so care has to be taken around elbows and faces but it can be done though I'll often use trimmers for those areas and they can become heavy if using them for a long time. Noise wise there are definitely quieter clippers around but I think they're less "whiney" than some and TBH horses don't seem any more worried by them than by my cordless Lister Liberty ones.

I don't think liveryman blades would fit. A friend had Liveryman Arena clippers and the Lasers were much more powerful.
