After pony destroyed his yesterday am looking for a new one, his was a hand me Down though and it was meant to be a 6ft3 but fitted him and he was a 5ft9 think it was from equestrian clearance and found the sizing weird with a lot of their rugs.
Soo anywhere onli where I can get a nice, cheapest (not bank breaking atleast) heavyweight combo? Quite like the fit of amigos on him but know they can be pricey so any suggestions guys :D
 
I've just bought a Shires Tempest Plus 2000D 400g Combo Turnout Rug and I'm really pleased with it! It cost 88 pounds I think.

I'm sure thats the rug I've got for my boy & it cost £130ish!
I'm b buying up loads if theres somewhere selling them for 88!

Check ebay and preloved, I've bagged some amazing rug bargains lightweights for £15, heavyweight combos for £40 and a Thermatex (in near perfect condition) for £30!!

I bought one brand new rug at the Tower Farm sale, a med weight Shires Tempest for about £35 i think... and that was because there was money in my pocket!

I've just googled them and 88/90 pounds seems to be the going rate? I think you've been had :eek::D
 
Axiom ones off ebay are fab! Normally quite reasonable too. They are new, but you have to bid rather than have a buy it now price. They're normally 300g, but sometimes do 180g & 380g ones too.

Ebay is where I get most of my rugs to be fair!

Also, if you have a local small tack shop, have a look there- you might be surprised at what you can get. I got a second hand Rambo (cleaned & repaired) in my local shop for £15!
 
thank you guys! now this is me being very dim but what weight actually is heavyweight? am looking at 300g ones, or would people class this more as a medium weight?
 
Having recovered from heart failure earlier thinking I'd been had re the shires rug price I went 2 yard & checked its the Shires Stormcheeta I've got so not been had phew!!
