Hedgehog Babies

They're both about the same size actually, theres not much in it at all :D

One is going to be albino like dad and one is going to be chocolate like mum :)

Awww. I take it they live indoors? Do they squeak? Does mum and dad wander about the house, or do they just live in a cage. I love hedgehogs. I remember one in my old back garden and my daughter and I feeding it a piece of ham by hand. (looking back wasn't even sure if they should eat ham) But he seemed to enjoy it :D

Yeah they live in the house in a large rabbit cage. God knows where they'd end up if i let them loose lol! :D Ham is ok, i give mine ham! Not too much though cos its salty, just as a treat :)

There was a hedgehog that I saw late one night a little while ago. I was on my way to bed and saw it crossing the road (very quiet road only my house opposite it) it came right up my drive and I was that excited I woke my daughter up :D to come and see it. I realised I hadn't ssen one since I fed that one in my old garden approx 4 years before! I put some milk out for it but it didn't touch it. It sat and looked at us for a while then just pootled off.

Think it was Mrs tiggy winkles :D:D

Ohhhhhhh! The albino is beautiful!!! In the last pic he/she looks like he/she is smiling!!!!
Unfortunately Hedgipig (in the pic) passed away as his wounds were too severe, but 'Eggbutnobacon' and 'Humperdink' were both rehabed and released sucessfully! I also had 3 from a centre to over winter as they were too underweight to hibernate, but I didnt name them as I didnt want to get attached, and they werent handled.
Id love a pygmy, but the ones I have seen for sale have been £200 plus, which is out of my price range :(

Awww, poor hedgepig :( Thats nice that the others went back into the wild though :D

APH are very expensive. Im looking for around £150 for these which is the going rate for registered hogs of these colours, but some of the rare colours can go for £3-400!!

Yeah, that one is SOOOO cute, i have it as my desktop background lol!

Here's some pics of them from today. I had thought they were both girls, but on closer inspection i think the albino might be a boy, certainly seems to have a little boy bit :D lol

Mum is gorgeous, and the babies seem to be growing quickly! How old do they have to be before they can leave their mum?

(I sense lots of random hedgehog questions...)

Lol!

She is feeding them constantly, having to feed her SO much to keep her nice and fat and able to look after them, they're like little vampires..!

They need to be about 8 weeks before they go :)

Oh the new piccies are just as good as the others!!!! Im totally in love!
Unfortunately I think OH/parents/dog/ponies whould be more than a little miffed if I bought yet another animal! lol!
Ill just have to wait for the poorly one Im bound to get at some point! And you have to keep posting piccys!!!!!!xx
