Heel/Feather mites.

Today I found out my cob has heel/feather mites,BUT its ONLY on the one foot.
Any ideas how to get rid of them? Someone suggested pig oil?? and I should cut the feather off,but my horse is not having any of it. Have cleaned the area with hibiscrub,all clean now but need to treat those pesky mites,any ideas????

Yes use pig oil and sulphur got rid of my cobs he had them for years but his legs did swell a bit after three days went down

Thanks for that.There was a bit of blood there but have cleaned the area well.
