can any one tell me if ivermectin cattle wormer is effective to cure mites on legs .i have been told to apply it directly on the legs.

Not heard of applying that, but i have sprayed on frontline you can get it from the vets this will kill any sort of mite.

Friend has used frontline spray on mites and mange on horse with effect. Not heard the cattle wormer though.

I am sure that is what the vet injected into my horse and it worked a treat

Believe so, but I have only ever needed to use frontline and thereafter stick to good old pig oil and sulphur on my hairy beasties.

i thought it was an ivermectin injection and after a month another one, i when i bought my cob i was advised to clip legs and use frontline spray...

Ditto frontline, although I have heard of the ivermectin injection. The only prob with frontline is that it is exspensive if you have lots or horses to do. My friends cob passed it to ours. We did two treatments and managed to clear our girls, however my friend refused to do hers a second time as she thought that it had worked well enough the first time. Suprise suprise the problem came back.

I was worried that my girls would pick them up again so I doused feet and legs with a herbal inscecticide powder on a weekly basis. It seemd to work. I wouldn't recomend using a herbal product to try to clear them, just to prevent them
