Height advice please

Hi,
Would like to know how comes pony is only 12.2hh, when mum is 13hh and is dad 14.2hh? Pony is 7.

On the other side of that coin, my last horse was 17hh out of a 15.2hh mare and by a 16.1hh stallion!

Pony genes from both parents would be my guess
Or under nourished as a baby both have a similar affect

Poor start as a youngster? Luck of the draw? My anglo has exceeded the height of his dam and sire but my old sec c didnt meet height of either parent due to somekind of birth defect/inbreeding (also 6wks prem and was never expected to survive according to stud farm) she had all kinds of serious health problems though and always looked like a youngster/not fully matured and died at only 12

She has no health problems and her breeding is very good as its on her passport, She is a riding pony. If she never made the height would that be why the stud sold her ?

I have a sec c that's breeding are all 13.2's all her siblings are 13.2 yet she is a dainty 12.1hh just happens sometimes she was treat no different to the others as a youngster
