Hiya! Glad to say that goose is settling in so well! The first few weeks were extremely rocky but 🤞 were through that now, just a quick question, does their passport say their height? I've been searching but half of it Welsh so I might not be looking hard enough, or it might even not be there 🤦🏻‍♀️, thank you!!

My daughter’s pony has a PetLog passport issued when she was 7 that states her height. It’s wrong 🤣

My mare has a passport that goes back to when she was a foal and no height.

Went to view a 14.2 that turned out to be 12.2 if lucky. The vendor insisted she was 14.2 as that is what it said on her passport. That one was readvertised due to time wasters. It had been a four and half hour journey to get there!
I once went to view a ‘14.2’ Highland. When we got there after a very long drive he was 13.2, if that. Basically the same height as my daughter’s Welsh B, just three times the width.
I was not happy.

The height on my Connie passport is not an estimate from foalhood. He was passported/mircochipped as a foal. There is a page in the passport for grading and height which is filled in when they are graded, usually at 3 or 4. Ungraded connies won't have this section filled in. Although as connies's often grow passed 4 the height is often wrong.

Both of mine have green Welsh passports. Height is not recorded, but they were both given a section when they were foals-.I think you have to get the them re-issued if they grow too big.

Heights on passports are only guesses unless they are in the JMB section stamped with the official stamp and vets detials

The number of horses listed as 16.2hh who are 16hh on their tip toes and more like 15.2-15.3 🙄

This doesn't surprise me.
Our RDA group travelled over 2 hours to view a '14.2hh weight carrier'. We did buy him because his temperament was perfect for the job and we had concerns about the health/long term prognosis of another pony. He was measured at 13.1hh when we got him home! Vendor said his height in his passport (as a foal) was what she used in the advert.

Same with Bobbi. 14.2 in her passport and advert, 13.3 on her tippy-toes.
