What do you do when you have finished a clip but will need to do again in a month. Do you take all the blades off or leave them on but give them a good clean? I have the cordles ones at not sure whats best for the blades or clippers.
cheers for all suggestions.

I borrowed my friends and made sure I took the blades of, cleaned and reoiled after every use. (I had to clip 3 horses in as many days!)

Always clean, even in a month the blades can start to corode.

Also something may happen, and the horse is off work, you don't clip again and then they get left for 12 months.

NB: If your cordless Heininger ones are like mine, make sure that you don't loose the annoying little square block that attaches the blades to the motor!

Take blades off and clean them, and clean all inside the clippers. Just had mine serviced and had a real nightmare finding anyone locally that will service them

Ha ha - the VERY annoying little square thing. I managed to lose mine in a haybarn last year. Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack!!

Have been having some problems tensioning mine. Any tips from anyone? They seem to make a funny whining noise unless I oil them every 2 mins.

Hiya, I work for Heiniger and there is a really good video on the Your Horse Website on how to maintain your clippers. A couple of other tips, always loosen the tensioning nut when you pack your clippers away as over time leaving it tight can weaken the spring. Also it helps to oil the blades when you have removed them and store them wrapped in a piece of cloth, it prevents rust. Guildford if you are having problems phone the Cox Agri customer service line on 0845 600 8081 and someone will be able to help.
