Another helicopter has come down. 35 miles east of Crimond, returning from a rig in the Miller field. Same company as before. 14 passengers and 2 crew. No updates on survivors or anything yet.

That's near where my dad is working

. My friend is on the East Brae, just next to the Miller field. I have asked if she has heard anything. Also really trying to get hold of my dad. I am sure its not a BP rig he is on, but not sure as all i know is its an old one and one he has been on before and he was on the Miller when it started production.

Thankfully it wasnt the field my dad is on. But he has decided that maybe after 30 years its time to get a job at B&Q. Even he is alarmed at 2 ditchings in as many months.

I am going to sign the book at the Oil Chapel tonight after work.

We've just been informed that a member of our Fishing Team was on the chopper

Hi WishfulThinker,

So glad your Dad is safe. And so sorry about your friend. It's just awful.

A friend's husband works on the rigs, now i'm worried about him (will ring her in the morning). Another friend has just retired from a similar job, and he was talking only a few weeks ago how petrified he was of helicopters.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy, and thanks that your Dad is ok. (I remember what it did to my family when there was an explosion on the chemical plant where my Dad worked. Thank God he was ok, so really feeling it for those whose Dads aren't ok after yesterday) Love BS x

its a complete tragedy for the north sea comunity, I know every1 who like me work offshore will be effected by this. My bf works offshore too, he was coming off another rig the day after the accident. A very upsetting time. I hope it highlights the risks taken by all offshore personnel.

A terrible time for all. Thought to the familys of the lost crew. You just never think its going to be you, or your loved ones. xxxx
